The old structure once occupied by Spotlight, is a cavernous retail premise. Having laid empty for a year or more, the property owner engaged a local building company to refurbish the property and prepare it for a new tenant.
This property presented a different challenge for the builders and Premier Safety and Environmental. Located immediately adjacent to the busy carpark servicing the retail sector, the asbestos removal process needed to be closely monitored for the presence of airborne asbestos.
“We located sensitive air monitoring equipment in key locations at the site and this was undertaken throughout the entire removal process. Then, once all of the asbestos sheeting had been removed from the exterior walls and entrance, Premier Safety and Environmental undertook air clearance and a visual check prior to issuing and a clearance certificate.”
